Thai Lantern Festival

Forgive me in this entry for I will be showing how big of a Disney movie fan I am. I will be talking about one scene in one movie though--"Tangled."

I thought that only in movies can I see lanterns flying in the sky. As much as these lanterns are symbolic in the film, they are very real in Thailand which is known as the Loy Krathong Sai or the Thai lantern festival.

Here is a photo of that festival which I
took from Google. Even in this picture, the Thai lantern festival looks magical. What more if you would see it in person? This year, Thailand will be celebrating this event in November along with the queen's 80th birthday. Even three months from now, I can already feel the excitement in all the travelers around the world.

Surely, this year, the country will be full of avid wanderers who want to witness such a magical activity as the Thai lantern festival. Well, I hope to be one of them.

Yeah! I hope so, too. But, how do they make the lanterns fly without burning the paper?
