"I don't want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together." - Holly Golightly -
No one can really fathom how many bottles of beer to drink, cigarettes to consume, meals to skip, night outs to go to, new friends to meet, or workloads to finish until one can finally move on. Aahh...moving on. Is it really the hardest thing to do?
If you would come to think of it, moving on is easy. Delete the number in your cellphone, erase all the pictures and songs that remind you of that person, then go on with your life. I think the pain here comes from letting go. That's because even if we say we have moved on, admit it or not, the pain still remains.
This 26th year, I have moved to a new resting place--the so-called boarding house which is a walking distance from my office. I think what I want to achieve here is not the independence, but more on the letting go. I want to practice the art of letting go.
This year I chose to live in a different place because I want to strengthen my heart to win in the battle of letting go. There are just some things we need to let go to fully move on and start as a new, clean slate--tabularasa.
No matter how painful it is to let go, there is always a first step to it. I have just taken that first step. When would you take yours?
(Left) I can't sleep without my Oinky. (Right) I need to wear those shoes on Friday.
